1990 / The company Servicios de TransportesCombinados S.A. was primary named asConfiaTay S.A. According to objectives of board members, company focused its work on project cargo for several industrial and mining companies like CCU, VTR, Madeco, FCAB Railway, MineraMichilla, MineraPelambres and many others.

1992 / Due to shareholder’s change (Luksic Group acquired 100% of the shares) company name changed to Confia Cargo S.A.

1995 / New minority shareholders – who joined the company on July 1994 (one of them was Wolfgang Schmidt) began to manage the company and introduced important strategic modifications changing the existing business model by offering their services to the whole chilean market. This was relevant for gaining new clients increasing business volume and incomes which affected positively the financial results.

1997 / Confia Cargo S.A. closed a strategic partnership agreement with multinational global logistics service provider UTi Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: UTIW), transferring all business, staff and management to be partner of UTi Chile S.A., new subsidiary of UTi Group of companies leaded by Wolfgang Schmidt (MD) and his partner.

2008 / In December 2008, and after 12 years managing multinationals UTi Chile (1997-2004) and thereafter C.H.Robinson Chile (2004-2008), Wolfgang Schmidt decided to return to the independent activity and reopened his formed company Confia Cargo S.A., incorporating to the new teamwork experienced and motivated logistic professionals.
